Men's Fleece Jacket from Warderobe By Me ...

My son is the sporty type.
To sport on the cooler days he is a fan of Softshell.
Do you know this fabric?
It is water-repellent, breathable and slightly stretchy so suitable to sport in all weather conditions (unless it rains really hard).
So the new Men's Fleece Jacket from Wardrobe By Me came just in time with the spring on his way!

Softshell clearly has less stretch than fleece, so you probably think it's crazy to use softshell for a jacket that is designed for fleece, and you are right, but ...

To compensate this, Christina from Wardrobe By Me designed a sleeve for the fleece version and a sleeve for the softshell version.
With this last sleeve the lack of stretch is perfectly taken care of.

Men's Fleece Jacket is a slim fitting jacket with contoured seams on both body and sleeve. The raglan sleeve (my favorite!) is designed with a seam from the shoulder to the wrist.
The Jacket has front pockets with invisible zippers set in the seams,
as well as an inner pocket with a zipper.
Make the jacket with a stand-up collar or a hood.

Try the Men's Fleece Jacket from Wardrobe By Me for the men in your life! I am already very satisfied with it (and my son too)!

Hacking the Fall in Love Sweater from Ellie and Mac 💖

I want to tell you about my love for the "Fall in love sweater", a super comfy sweater, beautiful in its simplicity.  The fit ans shape are just perfect for every woman.

Although I find the simplicity beautiful, I still wanted to add something special to the pattern.  After a search on my favorite source of inspiration "Pinterest", I fell for this sweater:

Can you see the "Fall in love sweater" in it?  The only thing I had to add were bishop sleeves.
I would love to show you how you can do this too!

Step 1:
I wanted to see the full sleeve pattern, so I printed p 19, 20, 21 and 22
2 times and assembled them to a full sleeve.  This step is optional.

Step 2:
Now you have to remove the seam allowance on the top of the sleeve.
Draw the 6mm (1/4″) seam allowance and cut it off.

Step 3:
Split the sleeve into 6 (almost) equal parts.  I started with drawing the midline and then I drawed 2 lines on each side of this line, at 5cm from each other.

Step 4:
Cut along the lines you drawed in step 3, but be sure to leave a little bit uncut at the top of the sleeve to be able to spread the pieces in the next step.

Step 5:
Take a large piece of paper and put it under the sleeve. Now you can spread the pieces as much as you want.  I wanted a modest bishop sleeve (like my inspiration picture on pinterest) so I spread the parts 4 cm (1,5") apart (the more you spread them, the fuller your sleeve will be).  Stick the parts with tape to prevent them from moving. Then draw between de parts to create the new sleeve piece.

Step 6:
Add the 1 cm (3/8″) seam allowance back to the sleeve head. Cut the pattern piece out.
Your new sleeve pattern is ready!

Step 7:
You can now follow the original "Fall in love sweater" instructions until you've sewed
your cuffs (p 22).  Your sweater should look like this:

Step 10:
Now you're going to prepare the gathering of the sleeve.
You have to select the widest straight stitch length on your sewing machine.  Sew a line of gathering stitches at the sleeve hem, staying inside the 6mm (1/4") seam allowance and leaving long tails at the beginning and at the end of your stitching.

Step 11:
Gather the sleeve hem by pulling the bobbin thread. Go slowly in order to not break the thread and gather it until the sleeve is as wide as the cuff.

Step 12:
With your Fall in love sweater right side out, slip the cuff over the sleeve, right sides together and matching the raw edges.  Make sure that the seam on your cuff matches the seam of your sleeve, adjust the gathers as needed and pin all around, slightly stretching the cuff around the sleeve hem. Stitch with a zigzag stitch or use your overlock.

Step 13:
Turn the cuff to the outside an your beautiful bishop sleeve is ready!

Fall in love with your own beautiful "Fall in love sweater"!
