Dusk meets Dakota

Voor mijn werk in het onderwijs sleur ik altijd super veel materiaal mee.  Ook mijn laptop moet steeds de trip van en naar school maken.  Een tijdje geleden vroeg mijn mama of ik haar mini laptop kon gebruiken.  Aangezien elke kilo minder telt besloot ik dit mini exemplaar te gebruiken voor school.

 I always carry a lot of material with me for my work in education. My laptop also has to make the trip to and from school. A while ago my mom asked if I could use her mini laptop. Since every kilo counts, I use this mini laptop for school.

 

Bij een nieuwe laptop hoort natuurlijk een nieuwe laptophoes.  

En wat we zelf doen doen we beter ;-), dus besloot ik om een avondje achter mijn naaimachine te kruipen.

Ik koos een prachtig designerkatoentje Dusk van Michael Miller uit bij de Stoffengallerij, voegde een streepje kurkleer toe en tadaaa ...

mijn nieuwe laptophoes was geboren.

 

A new laptop naturally requires a new laptop sleeve.
And what we do ourselves, we do better ;-), so I decided to spend an evening behind my sewing machine.
I chose a beautiful designer cotton Dusk van Michael Miller at de Stoffengallerij, added a dash of cork leather and tadaaa ...
my new laptop sleeve was born. 

Bij de start twijfelde ik een beetje over mijn stoffencombinatie.  Uiteindelijk bleek deze vrees ongegrond (denk ik) want ik ben er super blij mee.  Volgens mij past het glanzend Dusk stofje in donker grijs en paars perfect bij de kurk.  Het is bovendien een erg stevig, iets dikker katoentje dus ideaal voor het maken van mijn project.

 

 At the start I had some doubts about my fabric combination. In the end, this fear turned out to be unfounded (I think) because I am super happy with it. I think the shiny Dusk fabric in dark gray and purple matches the cork perfectly. It is also a very sturdy, slightly thicker cotton, so ideal for making my project.

 

Het patroontje is de GRATIS Dakota Tablet Clutch van Swoon patterns.  Enkel verkrijgbaar in het Engels maar met zeer duidelijke tekeningen en eenvoudig te begrijpen instructies.

 De designerkatoentjes met een stofbreedte van 110cm zijn er nu vanaf 9,25€/m. Ook staan er nog heel wat kinderstoffen, coupons en een aantal modestoffen in de koopjeshoek.  De moeite waard om eens rond te scrollen ...
