Out of my comfort zone...

 Luipaardprintjes ... je ziet ze overal, maar het was toch net iets buiten mijn comfortzone om ze zelf te dragen.
Tot Sabrina van De Stoffengalerij mij over de schreef trok om dit printje toch ook eens te proberen.

Leopard prints ... you see them everywhere, but it was just a little out of my comfort zone to wear them myself.

Until Sabrina from De Stoffengalerij  convinced me to give this print a try.

 

Het Leopard Tricot stofje van Swafing is weer echt een toppertje.  Niet alleen heel mooi en zacht, maar ook van super kwaliteit.  Ook wanneer het rekt blijft het mooi zijn kleur behouden.

Het is een redelijk stevige tricot van 220g/m2 die prima zijn vorm behoud.  

The Leopard Tricot  fabric from Swafing is again a real winner. Not only very beautiful and soft, but also of super quality. Even when it stretches, it retains its color beautifully.

It is a fairly sturdy 220g / m2 jersey that keeps its shape well.

Ik wilde de stof graag combineren met een op en top zomerse jurk en ik denk dat dat wel het minste is wat je kan zeggen van de Tank Dress 3-ways van Pattern Emporium.

I really wanted to combine the fabric with a totally summery dress and I think that's the least you can say about the Tank Dress 3-ways from Pattern Emporium.

De jurk heeft 3 verschillende rokken: een rimpelrok, een A-lijn rok en een volledige cirkelrok.  

Het aansluitende, mouwloze lijfje heeft een mooie ronde halslijn. Het is afgewerkt met een brede bias die zeer makkelijk aan te naaien is met behulp van de video instructie die opgenomen is in de handleiding.  Neem zeker eens een kijkje op de site van Pattern Emporium indien je deze jurk ook wilt naaien.

The dress has 3 different skirts: a gathered skirt, an A-line skirt and a full circle skirt.

The fitted, sleeveless bodice has a beautiful round neckline. It is finished with a wide bias that is very easy to sew on using the video instruction included in the manual.  Be sure to take a look at the Pattern Emporium site if you also want to sew this dress.

The Comfi Lounge Set

 Mag ik je voorstellen aan het nieuwe 2-in-1 patroon van Pattern Scout?  Het is de Comfi Lounge set.

May I introduce you to Pattern Scout's new 2-in-1 pattern? It is the Comfi Lounge set.

De Comfi T-shirt en broek zijn 2 basispatronen waarmee je veel kan variëren.  Beiden hebben 2 versies.
Bij het T-shirt kan je kiezen voor een aansluitende ronde hals of een lager uitgesneden hals.  De broek is er in een short versie met een binnenbeenmaat van 7,6 cm of in een lange, rechte, versie met 71 cm als binnenbeenmaat.

The Comfi T-shirt and pants are 2 basic patterns with which you can vary a lot. Both the T-shirt and the pants have 2 versions.
With the T-shirt you can choose a fitted round neck or a lower-cut neck. The pants are available in a short version with an inseam of 7.6 cm or in a long, straight version with an inseam of 71 cm.

A Frokkie Cozi Jacket

 Hallo lieve lezers, vandaag stel ik jullie met veel plezier mijn nieuwe Cozi jacket van Pattern Scout in een prachtig stofje van De Stoffengalerij voor. 

 

 Hello dear readers, today I am happy to present to you my new Cozi jacket from Pattern Scout  in a beautiful fabric from De Stoffengalerij.

  

Het prachtige Cozi Jacket patroon is zowel geschikt voor elastische als voor geweven stoffen.  

Ik maakte reeds een tof exemplaar van scuba (dat ik jullie trouwens nog niet liet zien 🙊) en wilde nu eens een geweven exemplaar proberen.

 

 The beautiful Cozi Jacket pattern is suitable for elastic and woven fabrics.
I made a cool one out of scuba (which I haven't shown you yet 🙊) and now I wanted to try one in a woven fabric.

 

 

 

Het roze Frokkie stofje van De Stoffengalerij was hiervoor ideaal.  Het is een middelzware stof (289g/m) van het merk Editex, perfect voor het naaien van vestjes, rokken of broeken.  

Het stofje heeft een lichte structuur, wat het een speels effect geeft, echt tof!

Ik vind de zalmroze kleur perfect passen, maar er is ook een blauwe

 en een licht gele variant. Allemaal met dezelfde prachtige structuur in de stof. 

The pink  Frokkie fabric from De Stoffengalerij was ideal for this. It is a medium weight fabric (289g / m) from the Editex brand, perfect for sewing jackets, skirts or trousers.
The fabric has a light structure, which gives it a playful effect, really cool!
I think the salmon pink color is a perfect fit, but there is also a blue one
  and a light yellow variant. All with the same beautiful structure in the fabric.

 

 

De Cozi jacket is een oversized, cropped vestje met superleuke opgestikte zakken op het voorpand.

Het is het perfecte laagjes kledingstuk dat niet in je garderobe mag ontbreken. 

Het is bovendien echt draagbaar in ontelbare situaties, van een super chique katoenen variant tot een super knus teddy exemplaar.  De mogelijkheden zijn eindeloos.

Ik ben echt gek op dit exemplaar van de Cozi Jacket.  Het prachtig roze Frokkie stofje van De Stoffengallerij  past er echt perfect bij.

The Metra blazer: looks like a blazer, feels like a sweater ...

  Een blazer die draagt als een comfy sweater, klinkt dat niet zalig?   

Love Notions maakte zo'n patroontje: de Metra Blazer.

Ik ben er echt weg van en wil dus graag mijn foto's met jullie delen 💖.

Het patroon heeft 2 kraagopties:  Een eenvoudige sjaalkraag, deze maakte ik,  

of een moderne brede reverskraag. 

De blazer heeft verder paspelzakken die super simpel te maken zijn, 

maar met een echt chique eindresultaat!

The pattern has 2 collar options: A simple shawl collar, I made this one,
or a modern wide lapel collar.
The blazer also has welt pockets that are super simple to make, but the end result looks really chic!

 

 

Ik gebruikte een leuke French Terry uit mijn stoffenvoorraad, maar elke stabiele, rekbare stof is geschikt. 

I used a cute French Terry from my fabric stash, but every stable knit fabric is suitable.

 

 

Het patroon bevat damesmaten XS -5X , verder heeft het ook een optie voor een volle buste, aanpassingen zijn dus quasi niet nodig. 

Niets dan positiefs dus over de Metra Blazer!  

Ik hoop dat jullie het even tof vinden als ik 💓.

 

 The pattern contains ladies sizes XS -5X, it also has an option for a full bust, so adjustments are hardly necessary.

Dusk meets Dakota

Voor mijn werk in het onderwijs sleur ik altijd super veel materiaal mee.  Ook mijn laptop moet steeds de trip van en naar school maken.  Een tijdje geleden vroeg mijn mama of ik haar mini laptop kon gebruiken.  Aangezien elke kilo minder telt besloot ik dit mini exemplaar te gebruiken voor school.

 I always carry a lot of material with me for my work in education. My laptop also has to make the trip to and from school. A while ago my mom asked if I could use her mini laptop. Since every kilo counts, I use this mini laptop for school.

 

Bij een nieuwe laptop hoort natuurlijk een nieuwe laptophoes.  

En wat we zelf doen doen we beter ;-), dus besloot ik om een avondje achter mijn naaimachine te kruipen.

Ik koos een prachtig designerkatoentje Dusk van Michael Miller uit bij de Stoffengallerij, voegde een streepje kurkleer toe en tadaaa ...

mijn nieuwe laptophoes was geboren.

 

A new laptop naturally requires a new laptop sleeve.
And what we do ourselves, we do better ;-), so I decided to spend an evening behind my sewing machine.
I chose a beautiful designer cotton Dusk van Michael Miller at de Stoffengallerij, added a dash of cork leather and tadaaa ...
my new laptop sleeve was born. 

Bij de start twijfelde ik een beetje over mijn stoffencombinatie.  Uiteindelijk bleek deze vrees ongegrond (denk ik) want ik ben er super blij mee.  Volgens mij past het glanzend Dusk stofje in donker grijs en paars perfect bij de kurk.  Het is bovendien een erg stevig, iets dikker katoentje dus ideaal voor het maken van mijn project.

 

 At the start I had some doubts about my fabric combination. In the end, this fear turned out to be unfounded (I think) because I am super happy with it. I think the shiny Dusk fabric in dark gray and purple matches the cork perfectly. It is also a very sturdy, slightly thicker cotton, so ideal for making my project.

 

Het patroontje is de GRATIS Dakota Tablet Clutch van Swoon patterns.  Enkel verkrijgbaar in het Engels maar met zeer duidelijke tekeningen en eenvoudig te begrijpen instructies.

 De designerkatoentjes met een stofbreedte van 110cm zijn er nu vanaf 9,25€/m. Ook staan er nog heel wat kinderstoffen, coupons en een aantal modestoffen in de koopjeshoek.  De moeite waard om eens rond te scrollen ...

The Kenai Crossover Hoodie

Ik maakte de nieuwe Kenai Crossover Hoodie van New Horizons Design. 

I made the new Kenai Crossover Hoodie from New Horizons Design.

 En eerlijk? Ik ben er helemaal weg van! Het is een gewone trui, maar toch ook weer een echte blikvanger door het super toffe gekruiste voorpand.

And to be honest?  I absolutely love it! It is a normal sweater, but also a real eye-catcher due to the super cool crossed front.

Waar ik echt fan van ben zijn al de details.  Ik maakte de kraag, maar ook een kap behoort tot de opties.  Ook de toffe, professioneel ogende, zakken en de zijpanelen zijn zo leuk om te maken.

What I really like is all the details. I made the collar, but a hood is also an option. The cool, professional looking, pockets and the side panels are also so really fun to make.

En dan sprak ik nog niet over de originele duimgaten ...

And I didn't even mention the original thumbholes ...

 

Het mooie voorpand maakt de trui al een echt toppertje dus je kan het patroon natuurlijk ook naaien zonder de zijpanelen en de zakken en met gewone mouwboorden.  Dit is ook in het patroon inbegrepen. 

 

 The beautiful front already makes the sweater a real winner so you can of course also sew the pattern without the side panels and the pockets and with regular cuffs. This is also included in the pattern.

 

Het patroon heeft een Damesversie en een een versie voor de kids.

 

The pattern comes in women's sizes and kids sizes.

The beautiful Telluride Top and Hoodie

Ik maakte de Telluride Top van New Horizons Designs.

 Een top die al lang op mijn To Do lijstje stond.

 

 I made the Telluride Top from New Horizons Designs.

 A top that has been on my To Do list for a long time.

Ik maakte de Telluride Top als wintertop, in een zachte French Terry.  De boorden knipte ik in katoen tricot.  Een perfecte combi bleek achteraf.  Ik ben helemaal verliefd!

 

I made the Telluride Top as a winter top, in a soft French Terry. I cut the edges in cotton jersey. 

It turned out to be a perfect combination. I am totally in love!

 Wat ik echt super vind aan het patroon is de veelzijdigheid.  Er zijn zoveel opties inbegrepen dat dit patroon echt gebruikt kan worden voor het naaien van een top voor elke gelegenheid.  Ik noem de mogelijkheden kort voor jullie op:

- verschillende mouwlengtes, telkens aanpassend of als een licht pofmouwtje

- duimgaten, gewone mouwboorden of lange mouwboorden

- een henley kraagsluiting (echt of nep), een ronde hals of een kap

- een hoog/laag zoom, een gewone zoom of een heupband

- verschillende toplengtes, waaronder ook een tunieklengte

What I really love about this top is its versatility. There are so many options included that this pattern can really be used for any occasion.
I will briefly mention them for you:

- different sleeve lengths, each time fitting or as a slightly puffy sleeve
- thumbholes, regular cuffs or long cuffs
- a henley, faux henley, a round neck or a hood
- a high / low hem, a regular hem or a waistband
- different top lengths, including a tunic length

 

Ik maakte mijn top met pofmouwtjes en lange mouwboorden.  Als kraagje koos ik de Henley. 

Het stofje voor mijn volgende exemplaar ligt al klaar ...

 

I made the hip lenght banded version with long puff sleeves, long cuffs and the Henley collar.

 The fabric for my next one is already chosen ...
